Your gas heater technician will discuss any concerns and/or issues you may have with your gas heater. Your technician will dismantle the outer casing of your heater and clean the debris and dust buildup inside your burner chambers, filters and throughout your heater.
Our Richmond Gas Heater Specialist technician will complete a thorough inspection and test the operation of your heater wiring harness, gas pressure, fan, solenoid valves, injectors, fuses, burner chambers and PCB board. On completion, your technician will re-assemble your heater and connect it back inside your home. A safety check is then undertaken of your connection point and hose and finally your Rinnai technician will check for gas leaks and carbon monoxide emissions.

How does an Instant Hot Water System work?
Instantaneous or continuous flow water heaters are designed to deliver a steady stream of hot water.
Instant gas water heaters work when you open a tap in your home and cold water enters the water heater. A flow sensor is triggered which then opens the gas valve and starts the igniter. The burner then fires inside a heat exchanger and water is heated when it makes contact with the exchanger’s hot metal surface. The instant water heater flow sensor and circuitry adjusts the output to meet your demand. The colder the incoming water, the harder the water heater must work. Other sensors and circuitry guard the appliance against overheating. After all that, the result is nice warm water, and as much of it as you’d like. When you are done using hot water, the instantaneous water heater system turns off the heat thus saving energy.
Why choose an Instant Hot Water System
- You have an endless supply of hot water whereas supply of tanked hot water is a limited by the size of the tank
- Instant hot water systems save on energy and money as you spend as much as you use
- The lifespan of instant hot water systems are almost double that of a hot water tank
- Instant hot water systems have cleaner and fresher water than hot water tanks
- Bacteria growth is not an issue with instant hot water systems
- Instant hot water system have reduced gas emission
- Compact designs save on space
Instant Hot Water System Efficiency
Instant hot water heaters provide hot water only as it is needed. They don’t produce the standby energy losses associated with storage water heaters, which can save you money. Storage tank water heaters continuously heat water to keep a full store at the ready. That means you’re paying to have hot water whether you need it or not. Typically tankless water heaters take 10 to 20 seconds longer to get hot water to the fixtures which mean there will be water flowing till the hot water reaches the tap.
Always have a qualified plumber install your hot water system
Lifespan of hot water systems
Hot water systems have a limited lifespan and can generally last upwards of 10 years. If you are unsure how old your water heater is, you can check the serial number listed on the manufacturer’s sticker.
When was my Hot Water System manufactured?
The serial number will start with a letter, followed by a series of numbers. The letter represents the month and the first two numbers indicate the year of manufacturing e.g G043857392 The letter G is the 7th letter in the alphabet followed by 04 which means your hot water system was manufactured in July 04.
Tempering valves are mandatory for all Hot Water Systems within NSW
Tempering Valves
Hot water systems that are 60oC must have the temperature reduced to prevent scalding. The role of the tempering valve is to reduce the risk of burning/scalding by mixing the hot water with cold water to 50oC.
As of May 2021, Fair Trading NSW require tempering valves be installed on all new hot water system installations.
